When applying Early Decision is the right choice

My decision to apply Early Decision followed only what I can describe as a gut feeling I had while visiting campus for the first time. It was easy to tell that students are truly happy to be here. The energy on campus was palpable from even my first visit. — Cole Grumbach '21 Flemington, NJI applied Early Decision because, after touring multiple colleges, Colgate felt the most like a home. It was a place where I thought I could really see myself for the next four years. — Ellie Galicich '21 Saint Paul, MNWhen I pictured college, I pictured myself walking up the hill from Case Library or reading by the fireplace in the Coop. Applying Early Decision was the best choice for me because I knew that, if I was accepted to Colgate, I would enroll over any other college acceptance I received. — Chloe Smith ‘22 Abingdon, VAI wanted to apply Early Decision as early as my sophomore year in high school. What drew me to Colgate was the Colgate spirit. I really wanted a collaborative rather than competitive community in college and everyone I talked to said that students and faculty were all so supportive and willing to help you succeed. — Eliza Lloyd '22 Brookfield, CT
