Ajay Chahar ’12 now has company online.

The first-year student has been keeping everyone updated about campus happenings through Twitter, a micro-blogging service.

Chahar will still use that platform for now, but his brief posts and those of other Colgate students and staff members also will be presented on a Twitter-like blog called ‘‘gatetwitter.

Real-time updates will continue to provide snapshots of what life is like on campus. But the micro-bloggers also hope to build conversation as they share impressions about events on campus and beyond.

The students have a wide variety of academic and extracurricular interests. Many also have internships and knowledge about specific areas of campus.

You’ll find:

Chahar, who is participating in the inaugural year of the Benton Scholars Program.

Bill Gabler ’07 is an assistant director at the Center for Leadership and Student Involvement.

Brittany Messenger ’10, president of Kappa Kappa Gamma, is a communications office intern.

Paul Kasabian ’10 is a leader in the popular intramural sports program and a huge Raiders fan.

Alyssa Perez ’11 is a resident advisor for the Office of Residential Life, working and living in Drake Hall

Whitney Randolph ’09 works as an admission office intern and also is active in the Colgate Christian Fellowship.

Alex Restrepo ’12 helps get students involved in the ALANA Cultural Center, where he is a student ambassador.
