Hamilton, NY — Colgate University named Steve Jungbluth the head men’s and women’s swimming coach.  Jungbluth comes to Colgate from the United States Naval Academy where he served as an assistant to the women’s squad for three seasons.

‘We’re very pleased that Steve will be joining us as head coach of the men’s and women’s swimming teams.  His knowledge of swimming and training techniques will promote the development of the program,’ said Interim Athletic Director Janet Little.

Prior to coaching at Navy, Jungbluth lettered in swimming at Massachusetts and was named co-captain for his senior season.  He then served as an assistant coach for two seasons at Amherst College.

During the 1997-98 campaign, Jungbluth took over as interim head coach at Amherst where he led them to a 51-9 record in two seasons.  He coached the women’s team to its best finish in school history.

Jungbluth begins at Colgate in August when he takes over for interim head coach Adam Kennedy.
