Rawson Named Patriot League Player of the Week For The Second Time This Season

Hamilton, NY — Colgate University senior shortstop Melissa Rawson (Palmdale, CA/Highland HS) has been named the Patriot League Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Rawson cracked two home runs last week to become the all-time leader in Patriot League history with 22.  She hit her record-breaking home run in the second game of a doubleheader against Bucknell on Sunday.

In seven league games last week, Rawson batted .667 (16-of-24) with three doubles, one triple and two home runs.  She had a slugging percentage of 1.125 while extending her hitting streak to 13 straight games.

She is currently batting .481 with eight doubles, three triples, eight home runs, 24 runs scored and 21 RBI.

Rawson helped the Raiders win five-of-seven league games to move into second place in the Patriot League standings.
