COLGATE UNIVERSITY THEATER TO PRESENT SPRING FESTIVAL OF NEW PLAYS APRIL 12-16

Hamilton, New York ‘ Colgate University Theater will present its Spring Festival of New Plays April 12-16 in Brehmer Theater, Dana Arts Center. Each of the eight one-act plays has been written, directed and acted by Colgate students. In addition, Colgate students have completed all the theatrical elements of the productions, from set design and construction to the lighting and costume design work. According to Jacques Levy, director of University Theater, ‘This festival, our last production of the season, is the most important project opf the theater program in any given year, the project that most closely reflects the spirit and the goals of this program.’

Two sets of plays will be presented. Program A offers an 8 p.m. performance on Wednesday, April 12 and Friday, April 14, and a matinee on Saturday, April 15 at 2:30 p.m., and will feature Mira by Ilana Manaster ’00, Pillow Fights by Jessica Frank ’01, An American Meatloaf by Katherine Schmidt ’01, and Southern Hospitality by Eric White ’01.

Program B offers an 8 p.m. performance on Thursday, April 13 and Saturday, April 15 and a Sunday, April 16 matinee at 2:30 p.m., and will feature Sarah by Ilana Manaster ’00, 17 Pages by Aaron Murray ’00, Two Prisoners by Christiaan Greer ’00, and Flavor Country by Dominic Hall ’00.
