Robert Johnson delivered supplies to victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Robert Johnson ’94 (third from left) was part of a grassroots effort that delivered more than 250,000 pounds of supplies and people via private airplanes in support of Hurricane Harvey victims. Based in Dallas, Johnson flew multiple missions to the Houston and Gulf Coast area in coordination with the Salvation Army and other relief organizations. “As airplane owners, this is a great opportunity to try to use our passion to help others,” Johnson said in a National Business Aviation Association article. He is also a Colgate Alumni Council and Board of Trustees member.

Gary Bletsch ’80 (left) and Jim McCoy ’82 at Mongolia’s Flaming Cliffs (where Roy Chapman Andrews found the first dinosaur eggs in 1923 — one of which resides at Colgate). Bletsch and McCoy have gone on several international birding trips together since meeting through an online ornithology forum in 1999.
