Connecting multicultural alumni with Colgate, current students, and each other through fellowship and mentorship.

Multicultural alumni are invited to come back to campus for a special weekend where they can inspire the next generation of students with their experiences. Join us for the second-annual Mosaic Weekend 2018, which will be held March 2–4.

Michèle Alexandre ’96, Colgate’s first black valedictorian, will deliver the keynote address, “Remaining Purposeful and Inspired Through it All.” Alexandre is associate dean for faculty development, professor of law, and Leonard B. Melvin Jr. lecturer at the University of Mississippi School of Law.

Other programming will include panels and workshops on topics ranging from identities in the workplace to “adulting”; formal and informal networking sessions; and receptions and meals — all aiming to benefit students as well as participating alumni.

Veronica McFall ’89, assistant director of alumni relations for affinity and identity programs, said that Mosaic Weekend “shows students that there are alumni and resources available to provide guidance and help about careers and life after Colgate.”

The weekend will also be a chance to kick-start participation in the new Virtual Alumni Mentoring program, which will match students with alumni who are willing to help guide them through their Colgate journey.

Registration is now open; see the Mosaic Weekend 2018 event page for more details and to register.
