In August 2025, the University opened Peter\u2019s Glen, a 2.5-acre, landscaped corridor that connects the upper and middle areas of campus and improves the pedestrian experience. People can now move directly from Bernstein Hall and the Dana Arts Center in Middle Campus up to the academic quad, following the pathway designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. The project was made possible by Peter L. Kellner \u201965, P\u201987, GP\u201916,\u201919<\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Before the creation of Peter\u2019s Glen, stormwater flowed from multiple pipes out of the hillside above the Dana Arts Center and Bernstein Hall and flooded the undersized storm system at the bottom of the hill. Increasing the piped drainage system and managing the flow of water will now alleviate flood events on Lally Lane and along Taylor Lake and improve the conditions of Payne Creek. The stormwater channel carries runoff from rain and snowmelt through terraced bluestone pools and cascades.<\/span><\/p>\n

Construction began in March 2024. The vehicle traffic circle by Frank Dining Hall was converted into a new upper plaza featuring stone pavers, boulder seat walls, new site lighting, and tree and understory plantings. A new lower plaza at the south side of Ryan Studio connects the project\u2019s main stairway and pathways to Bernstein Hall.<\/font><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
