Chef’s Station is a monthly highlight section for Executive Chef Damian Price to share some of his favorite features offered by Colgate Dining Services. 

Rooted in Good Taste

This month, I’d like to highlight another one of our most popular stations in Frank Dining Hall: Rooted.

At this unique station, we focus on real, wholesome foods that are completely plant-based. The recipes at Rooted revolve around flavor and bringing excitement to plant-based dining with both international and comfort foods.

With Middle Eastern spices such as Baharat and Thai street food favorites like pad thai, there is always something for students to enjoy. Additionally, Rooted highlights both vegan and vegetarian proteins, along with fresh vegetables and delicious starches daily. Some of the menu highlights include:

  • Vegan stir fry featuring tofu/tempeh/seitan with rotating homemade sauces
  • Miso udon noodle bowls and vegan poké bowls, as well as customizable grain bowls.

All of our associates at this station train extensively with me and our sous chefs to better understand the vegetarian and vegan lifestyles and to ensure that there is no cross-contamination.
