Torch Medals honor a Colgate faculty or staff member who made a meaningful impact on an alum during their time at Colgate. Doing field labs with him was so inspiring because he brought such an immense level of joy to everything he did. I’m a 3rd grade teacher in a title1 school in Denver now, and whenever I talk to my students about real-life scientists, he is my usual go-to.
