Colgate has many talented student music groups. Take some time this weekend to check one out!

This Sunday the Colgate Chamber Players will perform their concert Building Blocks in Memorial Chapel at 3:30 p.m. With a program including a Mendelssohn Octet, Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet, music by Bias Galindo, and featuring the premiere of a newly discovered Sinfonia by Niola Sava, it’s sure to be an outstanding performance.

Do you know what you will be doing right after graduation? Applying for a Fulbright scholarship might be an option you want to consider! The Fulbright grant gives students the opportunity to spend an academic year abroad either conducting research or teaching English. If you’re interested in this exciting opportunity, be sure to stop by the info sessions this Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. or 4:30 p.m. in 320 Lawrence Hall.

The application process has already begun for the 2015-2016 academic year, so get a move on! For more information, go here.

On Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. or Thursday at 5:30 p.m., head over to 105 Lawrence Hall for a guest lecture by Chris Given-Wilson, emeritus professor of history at University of St. Andrews and distinguished visiting professor at Fordham University. He is both a renowned medieval historian with many published books and articles and the mastermind behind the edition of the Parliament Rolls of Medieval England that Colgate has among its databases.

Given-Wilson’s lecture “Chivalric Biography and Medieval Life Writing” is sure to be interesting and engaging for anyone interested in the writing of history and historic lives, Shakespeare’s plays, and the concept of chivalry.

Do you miss your dog at home, or enjoy spending time with animals? Join the Shaw Wellness Institute on Thursday at 1  p.m. for a study break with therapy dogs from Wanderer’s Rest, a local shelter. Grab some friends and come on down to the Cutten Complex to get to know the dogs, enjoy tea and snacks, and take a well-deserved breather.

These are only a few of the events and activities going on around campus this week. To see everything there is to do, check out the full Colgate calendar of events.
