More than 40 years after graduating from Colgate, and after a successful career in investment banking, Michael Costa ’80 started yet another chapter in his life as a Stanford University Distinguished Careers Institute fellow. Along the way, he discovered a new community, renewed purpose, and a surprising number of Colgate connections.

I am STEM

When Stephanie Wortel ’06 asked a group of middle schoolers to draw a scientist, they mostly depicted old white men with kooky hair and lab coats. Wortel certainly didn’t see herself, or more importantly the children, represented in the drawings.
