“I would like to thank Mr. Thomas Cruz Soto for his work at ALANA and as the Dean of Multicultural Affairs! He always looked out for me. As a student coming from St. Croix USVI, Hamilton was a serious culture shock! ALANA always had great events with delicious food and even better company! I especially remember having Thanksgiving dinner there a few times when I couldn’t make it home. I really felt like I was with family! There was also a Harlem history trip that Thomas planned which involved a tour of Harlem, a visit to the Apollo Theatre, and a soul food dinner with jazz music (played by my very own father)! It was truly unforgettable! Thank you Thomas for all your hard work, for planning awesome trips, for your support through the years, your encouragement, and your sound advice. You have made a difference in my life and in my years at Colgate!”
