The Colgate men’s hockey team is heading to Lake Placid for the 2014 ECAC Hockey Championship weekend at Herb Brooks Arena, and Raider Nation is gearing up to show its support.

Nearly 250 alumni and fans have registered so far to attend (see the list) a Friday night reception at the Edelweiss Room in the Lake Placid Conference Center. The pre-game event is free, and the room will be open throughout the contest for between-period breaks. Please register here.

Should, or when, the team advances to Saturday’s championship game, the room will again be available for Colgate fans to gather.

Fans can track the latest news about the Raiders here and get additional tournament information on the ECAC website.

The second-seeded Raiders play Friday at 7:30 p.m. against third-seeded Quinnipiac. Top-seeded Union takes on fourth-seed Cornell in the early game at 4 p.m.  The championship game is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. There is no third-place game this season.

The Raiders reached the semifinals after sweeping St. Lawrence over the weekend with a pair of one-goal wins. Colgate did it with defense in game one with a 2-1 victory. In game two, the Raiders outscored the Saints by a 4-3 score.

All games this weekend are televised and available online. ECAC Hockey has partnered with Fox College Sports (FCS) to televise the semifinals and championship game.  Streaming also is available through ECAC Hockey and America One.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Herb Brooks Arena at 518-523-3330. The Colgate sections are three and four.
