Douglas Hicks, Colgate provost and dean of the faculty, announced Monday that the university’s Board of Trustees approved several tenure appointments and promotions for faculty members.

Faculty members named to continuous tenure and promoted to associate professor are:
- Jeffrey Bary, Department of Physics and Astronomy
- Janel Benson, Department of Sociology and Anthropology
- Catherine Cardelús, Department of Biology
- Edward Fogarty, Department of Political Science
- Geoffrey Holm, Department of Biology
- Eddie Watkins, Department of Biology
- Daisaku Yamamoto, Department of Geography and the Asian Studies Program
Promoted to full professor:
- G. Richard Geier, Department of Chemistry
- Spencer Kelly, Department of Psychology
- Eliza Kent, Department of Religion
- William Peck, Department of Geology
- Lynette Stephenson, Department of Art and Art History
