Coming up this week is another busy schedule of events, seminars, brown bags, and lectures. Here are some highlights that you won’t want to miss!

Tonight at 5, everyone is invited to join Colgate University and the Chenango Canal Nursery School in celebrating the expansion and renovation of the child care center. The evening will include a reception, ribbon-cutting ceremony, music provided by the center’s toddlers and pre-K students, and tours of the facilities. See the full list of speakers, including President Jeffrey Herbst.

More than 200 students conducted research at Colgate this summer. On Tuesday morning at 11:30, four physics and astronomy students will provide research presentations. Come to the Ho Science Center Atrium to see what they have been up to!  You can learn about other students’ research projects here.

Join the Latin American Student Organization in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at La Casa Pan-Americana as they screen the film Miss Bala on Thursday. The film explores the current socio-political climate of Mexico, which coincides with the organization’s promotion of Hispanic cultural awareness, and was Mexico’s submission for Best Foreign Language Film in 2011. The movie will screen at 7 pm – be sure to get a seat! For more info, go here.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to meditate? Now’s your chance! Head over to Chapel House Friday afternoon at noon to participate in a weekly meditation class for students, staff, and faculty. Chapel House, in partnership with the Shaw Wellness Institute, is happy to offer these classes to bring the community together while staying well. Beginners are welcome!

These are just some of the many event going on around campus in the upcoming week. To see them all, check out the Colgate events calendar.
