Spirit Festival showcases student and community talent in advance of Konosioni auction

Back to All Stories

In advance of the Konosioni Charity Auction, the student senior honor society will host a Spirit Festival that showcases student — and local — talent throughout the day on Friday.

Performances will take place at various locations on campus, along Broad Street, and in downtown Hamilton in what Konosioni member Dave Esber ’13 calls “traditional New York street performer fashion.”

The event begins at 2 p.m. outside the O’Connor Campus Center (COOP), and will move to Broad Street and West Kendrick, the Theta Chi fraternity house lawn, before ending at the village green.

The theme of this year’s Konosioni auction, which will be held 7:30 p.m. Saturday, is ‘Tis the Spirit that is Colgate” — a fitting name for the festival events leading up to it. These performances, according to Esber, will demonstrate the spirit that is Colgate and the surrounding community through the participation of community members, students, and local businesses.

Some performances will include poetry readings from Poetically Minded, and other acts such as the Colgate Juggling Club and the Colgate Step Team.
