13. Ten percent of Colgate’s faculty travel to India for a 14-day immersion/learning expedition.

12. Colgate hires 63 talented new faculty members, which decreases the student/faculty ratio.  New faculty bring new ideas into the classroom.

11. The Raiders volleyball, women’s soccer, cross country, and football teams all win Patriot League titles. Many athletes are named to academic all-America teams in one of Colgate’s most successful sports seasons.

10. Colgate works to increase the digital IQ of current students by launching Lynda.com and opening the Digital Learning and Media Center.

9. Salman Rushdie caps the Living Writers course at Colgate.

8. Peter Baum wins the Tewaaraton Award, given to the best college lacrosse player in the nation.

7. Dancefest continues to be the most popular event on campus.

6. Colgate welcomes a new dean of the faculty, dean of the college, athletics director, and CIO.

5. Richard Branson headlines Entrepreneur Weekend. During the ceremony, Maggie Dunne ‘13, Glamour magazine’s top college student of the year, asks Sir Richard for $20,000 for her nonprofit – and gets it.

3. Mark H. Murphy ’77, president and CEO of the Green Bay Packers, delivers the commencement address to the Class of 2012 (and wears a cheesehead during the ceremony!)

2. Colgate opens the New York Stock Exchange. Also on that day, #ColgateDay trends on Twitter for the second time.

1. Colgate raises $480 million in the Passion for the Climb campaign.
