Concert, food drive part of Sandy relief efforts at Colgate

The Colgate community is offering several ways to help those still reeling from the effects of Superstorm Sandy. Come on out and provide some much-needed support!

Here are some of the events:

Concert by Conniption Fits
9 p.m. today
Donovan’s Pub
Indie band Conniption Fits (voted best rock trio by NH Magazine) will perform; donations to the Red Cross will be collected.

Basic Supplies Drive

6 p.m. today
Cotterell Court
The women’s basketball team plays Cornell in its season opener, and volunteers will collect urgently needed blankets, flashlights, bottled water, batteries, shovels, cleaning supplies, trash bags, serving dishes/utensils, diapers/baby wipes, rubber boots, masks, gloves, and winter wear. Donations also will be accepted at the team’s home game against Robert Morris at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Afternoon of Service

Friday, November 16
Garden Level of the Chapel
A panel discussion with students who have been affected by the storm, faculty, and members of the student-run Disaster Response Team. The panelists will share their expertise and experience from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. followed by an afternoon of service in the COVE from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
