Colgate offers free access to 1,400 learning modules with Lynda.com

The Digital Media Learning Center at Colgate University is available to students

The Digital Media Learning Center provides another high-tech resource for students.

Starting this month, all students, staff, and faculty have full and free access to Lynda.com, a leading online digital learning website offering more than 1,400 lessons on using technology, from simple to complex.

Combined with the recently opened Digital Media Learning center, Lynda.com is one of many tools available to Colgate students to help increase their digital IQ.

According to President Herbst, “As we seek ways to further enhance Colgate’s exceptional teaching and learning methods, Lynda.com is an robust and important resource.”

Users can take an unlimited number of courses ranging from creating a website to realizing the potential of programs such as Photoshop, Powerpoint, or Garageband. Also available are easy-to-digest courses on video creation, FinalCut Pro, Google Drive, and other topics that are useful in teaching in the liberal arts.
