First-years are welcomed to Colgate community

Back to All Stories

There were bright smiles, even if there wasn’t any bright sunshine, greeting the newest members of the Colgate community today as first-year students moved into their residence halls.

The 765 members of the Class of 2015 have a full agenda during the next few days with an orientation program that mixes academic preparation with opportunities to socialize with classmates.

The class was chosen from an applicant pool of 7,834, representing 49 states, the District of Columbia, and 121 countries. Admitted students boast an average GPA of 3.75 and an average combined SAT of 1397 (critical reading and math).
