Hamilton, NY — The Colgate women’s lacrosse team has a tough task in its first-ever trip to the NCAA tournament.  The Raiders will travel to Princeton to battle the unbeaten and number one ranked Tigers on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Colgate enters the contest with a 13-6 overall record, while the Tigers are the only undefeated squad in the 16 team field at 16-0.  The two squads have two common opponents, Lafayette and Brown.  Colgate defeated Lafayette twice by scores of 12-7 and 12-9, while Princeton opened its season with a 17-3 win over the Leopards.  The Tigers closed out the season with a 5-4 win over Brown, while Colgate dropped a 10-5 decision to the Bears earlier in the year.

Colgate comes into the game being led on offense by Katie McVeigh with 69 points and Kelly Winning with 54 markers.  Sue Bielamowicz anchors the defense with a 9.04 goals against average and a save percentage of .549.

The two teams have met just once back in 1986 with the Raiders coming out on top by a 12-7 score.
