Women’s Lacrosse With Nine Top 20 Rankings in the Recent NCAA Statistics Report

Hamilton, NY — The Colgate women’s lacrosse team is out to a 9-4 start this season, including a 4-0 Patriot League mark.  With the current success of the squad, the Raiders are ranked nationally in many statistical categories.  The stats are updated prior to this weeks game against St. Bonaventure.

On the team side, Colgate is ranked in the top 20 in four categories.  The Raiders are 19th in scoring offense (11.83 per game), 12th in scoring defense (8.17 per game), 16th in scoring margin (3.67 per game) and 18th in winning percentage (.667).

Sophomore attacker Katie McVeigh is ranked in three offensive categories as she in on her way to improve upon her 55 point season as a freshman.  McVeigh is 14th in points per game (4.36), 20th in goals per game (2.82) and 14th in assists per game (1.55).  The sophomore currently leads the team with 33 goals and 18 assists for 51 points.

Sophomore netminder Sue Bielamowicz is having a stellar year between the pipes for the Colgate this season and is ranked in two statistics.  Bielamowicz is 11th in goals against average at 8.17 and sixth in the nation in save percentage at .583.  The sophomore has played every minute of Colgate’s 13 contests and is one victory away from her second consecutive ten-win season.

Colgate looks to stay perfect in the Patriot League when it hosts Lehigh on Saturday, April 17, at 1 p.m.
