As of Monday, March 29 ‘ Senior pitcher Elena Isaac (Chandler, AZ) had her 20th career shutout in a 4-0 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.  She struck out eight and walked one against the Crusaders ‘ Isaac leads the Patriot League in ERA (0.26), wins (10), innings pitched (82.1), shutouts (5), and complete games (7).

 

Junior outfielder Dorothy Donaldson (Lakeland, FL) is the third leading hitter in the Patriot League with a .377 average.  She leads the league in home runs (7), runs scored (20), total bases (55), walks (18), and slugging percentage (.714).

 

Donaldson has moved into sixth place in career runs scored (77), eighth in hits (129), fifth in RBI (83) and sixth in doubles (26).

 

Colgate belted six home runs in the Holy Cross series to bring the season total to a league high 11.  Donaldson, freshman first baseman Danielle Soule (Glendale, CA) and junior shortstop Nichole Rawson (Palmdale, CA) had two apiece.  Rawson’s second homer was a grand slam against the Crusaders.

 

Other Colgate players among Patriot League leaders are: Nichole Rawson ‘ sixth in hitting (.354), sophomore outfielder Erin Hanna (Tucson, AZ) ‘ seventh in hitting (.338) and junior second baseman Natalie Rawson (Palmdale, CA) ‘ ninth in hitting (.329).

 

Natalie Rawson is second in runs scored (19), while her twin sister Nichole is third (18).  Natalie leads the league in doubles with 11, and is second in RBI (18).  Donaldson is third in RBI with 17.

 

Freshman pitcher Kelsey Nordstrom (Salina, KS) is third in strikeouts per game with 8.92 and fourth in wins with six.

 

Rachel Smith (Annandale, VA) has a six-game hitting streak, followed by Donaldson with a five-game streak.  Donaldson and Nichole Rawson are tied for the team lead in multiple-hit games (7) and Natalie Rawson leads the team in multiple-RBI games (6).

 

Colgate’s pitching staff has the best ERA in the Patriot League (1.05). The Raiders have 14 shutouts in 28 games.

 

Colgate (21-7) has won 20 or more games in eight straight seasons, and all seven under head coach Vickie Sax.  The Raiders are enjoying the best start in school history.
