Women’s Lacrosse Releases Five Game Internet Radio Broadcast Schedule

Hamilton, NY — For the second straight season, Colgate Women’s Lacrosse will provide live audio coverage over the Internet for selected contests. The five game broadcast package is free to listeners. Ted Rossman returns as the club’s play-by-play commentator, and Alex Clark will serve as a color analyst. Listeners will be able to access the broadcasts by clicking a link from the Colgate Athletics homepage (www.gocolgateraiders.com).

 

Last season the Raiders went 10-8 overall and 5-1 in the Patriot League, earning the league’s #2 seed and a Patriot League Tournament appearance. Returning to lead the Raiders in 2004 is defending league Rookie of the Year Katie McVeigh (Basking Ridge, N.J). As a freshman McVeigh led the league with 48 goals and was named second team All Patriot League. Senior midfielder Becky Ortolano (East Nassau, N.Y.) is a returning first team All Patriot League selection, while sophomore midfielder Kelly Winning (Oreland, Pa.) was named to the second team.

 

The first of the five Internet radio games is on Thursday, March 25, as the Raiders host the University of California-Berkeley at Last season in Northern California the Raiders gave the Golden Bears all they could handle before succumbing 14-10.

 

The broadcast schedule picks up again on Tuesday, April 13 as Colgate hosts non-conference foe St. Bonaventure at Including this one, the Raiders will play their final four regular season games at Tyler‘s Field, all of which are a part of the team’s broadcast package.

Following a week of rest, the Raiders are back at it on Saturday, April 24 for another crucial late season Patriot League battle as defending league champion American comes to town. It promises to be a busy weekend for the Raiders, as the following day Towson will seek to test the Raiders in a non-conference affair, Colgate’s last game before the Patriot League Tournament. The games are set to begin at on both days.
