CENTER VALLEY, Pa.Senior center Howard Blue (Washington, D.C./Gonzaga) of the Colgate University men’s basketball team was named the Patriot League Player of the Week Monday.
Blue earns the honor for the first time in his career after scoring 37 points and grabbing eight rebounds in two games last week.
In the first game against Buffalo, he shot 6-for-10 from the field and was 8-for-9 from the free throw line to finish with a game-high 20 points. Blue then completed the week with a 17-point, six-rebound performance at Harvard Friday night in a 78-60 win over the Crimson. He scored his 1,000th career point late in the second half of that game to become the 23rd player in school history to achieve that feat.
Blue and the Raiders are back in action on Saturday against Hobart. Game time is set for 3:15 p.m. at Cotterell Court.
