CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Junior midfielder Jon Cook (Oneonta, N.Y.) had a performance of a lifetime Saturday evening on Van Doren Field.  Cook tallied four goals and added two assists in an 8-1 defeat of Patriot League foe Army.  For his efforts Cook was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Cook’s four goals in one match is a Colgate record and ties a Patriot League record held by Lehigh’s Andrew Mittendorf.  His ten points is a school record and breaks the previous Patriot League record of nine held by Matt Ney of Holy Cross.

Playing in just nine games and starting in only five because of a foot injury that sidelined him for the first half of the season, Cook led the team in scoring for the third straight season with 17 points.  He finished the year third in the league in points, fourth in goals with seven and 12th in assists with three.

In the five Patriot League matches Cook saw time in, he scored six goals and added two assists, both league-highs.  He finishes the season with 45 points, tying him for ninth with Scott Coleman ’94 on the Raiders’ all-time list.
