“We are thrilled to have Dick serve as our keynote speaker at the Silver Puck Banquet this year,” said interim head coach Stan Moore. “Both of his careers in hockey and law will provide excellent insights for our team and our Silver Puck guests as it relates to the pursuit of excellence.”
McGlynn, a defenseman who played from 1967-70, finished his Colgate career with seven goals and 41 assists which ranks him 118th on the all-time scoring chart.
Following his career at Colgate, McGlynn competed for the U.S. Olympic Team that captured the silver medal at the 1972 Olympics in Sapporo, Japan. He was also a member of the 1971 and 1972 U.S. National Teams which competed in World Tournaments in Switzerland and Romania.
The Silver Puck Club awarded McGlynn with a silver and gold puck in 1972 and he was inducted into Colgate’s Hall of Honor in 1979 as a charter member.
Following the Olympics, McGlynn played professional hockey in Chicago as a member of the Chicago Cougars of the World Hockey Association.
McGlynn, a native of Medford, Massachusetts, practices law in his hometown. He earned his law degree from New England School of Law where he was named to the Dean’s List all four years and was a four-time recipient of the school’s New England Scholar Award. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was in the top 5 of his class.
His brother older brother Jack ’69 competed for the Raiders from 1967-69 as a goaltender.
