Hamilton, NY — Well-known area pianist Steven Heyman will present a solo piano recital of works written in France on Thursday, November 13, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Colgate Memorial Chapel. Spanning three centuries, works of Daquin (La Vents en courroux), Rameau (Les Tendres plaints), Chopin (Barcarolle), Debussy (Three Preludes) and Ravel (Gaspard de la nuit) will be presented. The concert is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served to all concert-goers.
Mr. Heyman, a native of Syracuse, received his Bachelor, Master of Music and Professional Studies degrees from the Juilliard School as a scholarship student of Adele Marcus. An active performer, he averages forty concerts a season. He has performed solo recitals, chamber music concerts and concerto appearances throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Mr. Heyman has appeared in London, Paris, Prague, Munich, Vienna, Salzburg, Oslo, Montreal, Quebec, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and New York, among others. In New York, he has appeared in Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and as an invited artist for a Juilliard memorial tribute to the late Miss Marcus. Mr. Heyman is Pianist-in-Residence at Colgate University.
