Women’s Soccer Winning Streak Snapped By Villanova

Annapolis, Md. – The Colgate University women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Wildcats of Villanova in Annapolis on Friday.  Lindsey Finnegan talled a first-half goal at 16:44 to propel Villanova to an impressive 9-1 record.  The Raiders fall to 6-3 on the year.

The game was played evenly as shots were 16-12 in favor of Villanova.  The Wildcats also held the advantage in corners 5-3.

Colgate’s leading scorer Kate Barrett (Troy, N.Y.) talled a shot on goal, but was ejected after receiving a red card at the 52:31 mark of the second half.

Luisa Miller (Washington, D.C.) played well in net making four saves, but was outdone by Chrissy Dolan, who made six stops for Villanova.

Colgate’s six game winning streak was snapped, and its shutout streak comes to an end at 418 minutes.  The Raiders are back in action Sunday, September 28, when they face Patriot League foe Navy at 12 p.m.
