Hamilton, NY — Junior tailback Jamaal Branch has been named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Colgate’s 31-9 win over Dartmouth last Saturday.
Branch wins the award for the first time in his career after rushing for a career-high 211 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries, averaging 8.1 yards per attempt. He scored touchdowns on runs of 4, 10 and 41 yards for the Raiders.
Meanwhile, Colgate moves up two places in this week’s Sports Network/CSTV I-AA Top 25 poll to 22nd place. The Raiders, who have won nine straight games, are 3-0 for the first time since 1983.
