I stopped counting the number of clubs and organizations after sixty.  There were just that many.  Earlier in the semester, I gathered a few friends and headed for the Hall of Presidents for Student Activities Night, where representatives from every club, organization, society, and sport gather to spill information about their activities.  Community service to CUTV, Colgate’s closed-circuit television station, to Club Water Polo, Latin American Student Organization, The Portfolio, Colgate’s literary magazine, Outdoor Education opportunities, dance groups and music groups and comedy troupes.  It’s loud.  It’s crowded.  Candy and fliers circulate the room.  From first-years exploring new avenues to seniors still getting involved.  By the end of the night, I had added my name and e-mail address to five different clubs.
