Reed Earns Patriot League Rookie of the Week Honors For The Second Time This Season

BETHLEHEM, PA – For the second time this season, Colgate freshman guard Alvin Reed (San Bernardino, CA/Lawrence Academy, Groton, Mass.) has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week.

He contributed 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals in three Colgate contests last week.

In the Raiders’ 41-point victory over Hartwick Monday, Reed was 4-for-7 from the field, including 2-for-3 from long range, on the way to 11 points. He also hit double figures with 10 points, including 3-of-4 from outside the arc, helping the Raiders rally from a 17-point halftime deficit before suffering a seven-point loss at Albany.

Reed has played in all 12 games, while averaging 6.8 points per game and dishing out 25 assists.  He is tied for the team leadership in 3-point FG made with 15 and shooting .411 from the field.
