Five Softball Players Earn Dean’s Award For Academic Excellence.

Hamilton, NY — Five members of the Colgate University softball team are recipients of the Dean’s Award for academic excellence during fall 2002 semester.  To be eligible for the Dean’s Award, a Colgate student must achieve a 3.30 or higher average while carrying a full course load of four courses per semester.

Included among the five Dean’s Award students were three returners and two newcomers to the team for the coming year.

The returnees earning the Dean’s Award include senior Amanda Brickell (Leawood, KS), senior Melissa Rawson (Highland, CA) and junior Allison Fleming (Houston, TX).  Newcomers on the list were freshmen Erin Hanna (Tucson, AZ) and Erica Nesselroad (Morgantown, WV).

Overall, the softball team had nine players with a 3.00 grade point average or higher for the fall semester.
