Hamilton, NY — Colgate University freshman guard Alvin Reed (San Bernardino, Calif./Lawrence (Mass.) Academy) has been named the Patriot League’s Rookie of the Week in men’s basketball.
Reed wins his first Rookie of the Week award after averaging 7.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals in three games last week for the Raiders.
Reed started the week with six points, three boards and four assists against Big East powerhouse Syracuse. In Friday’s victory over New Hampshire, Reed contributed seven points, two caroms and two helpers. Sunday, the newcomer tallied eight points, including 2-for-3 from three-point range, in the Raiders’ loss vs. Long Island.
