FINDLAY, OH – The Colgate women’s hockey (1-2-0) team traveled to Findlay (2-3-0), Ohio for a weekend series and dropped game one 5-0 on Saturday night.

Jenn Jessop posted a hat trick for the Oilers and added an assist.  Jessop scored at 14:10 of period two on an assist by Melissa Oliver. 

Findlay would score four goals in the third period to win 5-0.  Michelle Hickley scored thirty seconds in to the final frame on assists from Jessop and Oliver.  Heidi Tallqvist scored the Oilers’ third goal at 8:18 on a pass from Janet Ploncinsky.  Jessop scored her last two goals on the power play at 9:27 and 15:19, setting the final at 5-0.

Findlay outshot Colgate 31-26.  Colgate was whistled for six penalties for 12 minutes and the Oilers committed four penalties.  Findlay was 2-5 on the power play and Colgate finished at 0-4.

Rebecca Lahar made 26 stops in net in the losing effort.

Colgate tries to turn things around tomorrow when they take on Findlay at 2 p.m.
