HAMILTON, N.Y.  – The Colgate University men’s soccer team battled to its first 0-0 tie of the season against Hartwick Wednesday night.

Both teams played similar defensive styles and kept each other from creating good scoring chances.  Colgate’s best chance came on a breakaway by Pete Bourquin but the play was knocked wide by Randall Moate the Hartwick keeper.

Hartwick outshot Colgate 9-4, and outcornered the Raiders 10-5 in the match.

Will Martin (Excelsior, MN/Breck) made five saves en route to his third shut-out of the season.

Colgate now 4-4-3 on the season will head to Annapolis, MD for a Patriot League contest with Navy on Saturday at 7 p.m.
