Linebacker Chris Rowland got into the Colgate turnover act as well, intercepting a ball off the hands of Lion receiver Travis Chmelka and taking it six yards for a touchdown giving the Raiders a 24-0 halftime lead.

Bowers’ third fumble recovery in the third quarter set the stage for Tim Lavoie‘s 33-yard touchdown run with 5:18 left in the quarter.   Columbia’s only TD came with 2:10 remaining in the third quarter when backup quarterback Jeff Otis fired a strike to a wide-open Chmelka from 27 yards out on his first pass of the game.  The Lions missed the extra point after a fumbled snap.

Colgate put its final points on the board on the last play of the game, when Matt Kobelski bolted 56 yards and Schwarzberg adding the extra point.
