Parker Named PL Defensive Player of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa.- Junior midfielder Joe Parker (Crofton, Md.) of the Colgate men’s lacrosse team was named the Patriot League’s Defensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row for his efforts against Canisius Friday.

Parker earned the honor for going four for five in the face-off circle and adding a goal and three assists in the Raiders 19-5 romp over the Golden Griffins.

Parker earned the honor last week for winning nine out of 11 draws and tallying two goals and an assist.

The Raiders are heading to Cambridge, Mass. for their final game of the 2002 season to match up with Harvard.  Parker goes into the game leading the Raiders in all offensive categories with 27 goals and 19 assists.  He also posts a .542 winning percentage in the face-off circle.
