Hamilton, NY — Dr. Lonnie Thompson, known worldwide for his work on reconstructing climate histories based on glacial ice cores, will deliver a lecture titled ‘Disappearing Glaciers: Evidence of a Rapidly Changing Earth’ at Colgate University on Monday November 27, at 8:00 p.m. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will take place in Love Auditorium, Olin Hall and is sponsored by Colgate’s Core Scientific Perspectives program.

Dr. Thompson is a professor of geological sciences and a research scientist at the Byrd Polar Research Center of Ohio State University. He has produced strong evidence supporting modern-day global warming.
