Hamilton, NY — Colgate University has elected 37 seniors to the Eta chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the national scholastic honorary society, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement.
Initiation of these new members will take place on May 15 as part of Commencement Weekend activities.
New members of Phi Beta Kappa promise to have ‘paramount regard for moral character and scholarly attainment’ in the tradition of the society which was founded in 1776. Colgate’s Eta chapter was organized in 1878.
